Maria Coler | President

Maria Coler, president of Hydrotechnology Consultants, Inc. (HCI), has more than 15 years experience in the environmental consulting field.

Ms. Coler is often retained as an expert witness and has been instrumental in obtaining large settlements in several cases involving major oil companies. She frequently appears as a speaker at industry events and authors papers for publication on issues ranging from environmental due diligence to remediation technologies.

Ms. Coler has developed and copyrighted an environmental software program which streamlines the management of personnel, projects, clients and industry knowledge, creating efficiencies and cost savings. The program equips HCI with a knowledge retention capability unsurpassed in the industry, enabling HCI to keep abreast of the state-of-the-practice in investigative and remedial technologies, as well as relevant changes in the ever-evolving regulatory, legal and accounting spheres.

Ms. Coler holds a B.S. in Environmental Science, a B.A. in Physics and a minor in English Literature from Rutgers University. She is a Licensed Site Remediation Professional with the State of New Jersey and a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. Ms. Coler is a member of the National Groundwater Association, the National Brownfield Association, the Society of Environmental Forensics, the Environmental Business Association of New York State and the U.S. Green Building Council.

Ms. Coler served on the Governor's Task Force for the New Jersey Highlands Council as an expert regarding the impact of contaminated properties on the potable water supply. She has recently joined the board of Hands on the World Global, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing drinking water and creating sustainable hubs at schools in the developing world with large orphan populations.

Brian Babcock | Senior Project Manager

Brian Babcock is a Senior Project Manager at Hydrotechnology Consultants, Inc. and has been in the environmental consulting field for more than 6 years. Brian has extensive experience in the investigation and remediation of residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Brian’s particular expertise is in the development and implementation of innovative insitu remedial strategies. Other areas of interest include environmental forensics and natural resource damages assessments.

Mr. Babcock earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from Lehigh University and holds a Subsurface Evaluator license with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Vincent Berardi | Senior Project Manager

Vincent Berardi is a Senior Project Manager at Hydrotechnology Consultants, Inc. and has over seven years experience in the environmental consulting field. Vincent has performed investigative and remedial activities at hundreds of residential and commercial sites in New Jersey and New York.

Vincent’s particular expertise is in vapor intrusion investigations and vapor mitigation system design. Other areas of interest include computer modeling of contaminant fate and transport and expert testimony technical support.

Vincent has a B.S. in Mathematics from Saint Peter’s College and is currently enrolled in a Non-Linear Dynamical Systems Master’s program at San Diego State University. He holds a Subsurface Evaluator license with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
